P Power of Positive Faith

What Is He Trying to Tell You?

When I sit and think about the world around me, I cannot help but believe that we are here in this place, where we are, during this time, to make a difference for such a time as this. I think we can sit back and complain about the restrictions due to COVID, or we can stop, breathe, and ask God, "What would you want me to do as we wait?"

Ah, you hadn't thought about that. I have. When things seem to go against the normal, and chaos abounds, I have to wonder if we were thrown into the mess to see how we would respond.  I wonder if God is teaching us a lesson, not the lesson of patience as much as reliance.

I wonder, don't you?  Do you think that God may be asking us to stop with our agendas and listen for His?  Perhaps He's been whispering for a while to slow down and spend some time with Him, but we were so busy achieving that we didn't have time to listen. Do you think He has been trying to show us the path He wants us to take, but we continued to insist on our own?  These are the kinds of questions I ponder.

I do not know the answer to any of these questions. What I do know is this: In times of trouble, I will trust in Him.  When life is uncertain, I will turn to the scripture that says I need to remain faithful.  If you have not participated in the discipline of reading your Bible much lately, now is the time to force yourself to do so.  When we do, we continue to feed our minds with positive things rather than the negatives.  We bombard our thoughts with God's thoughts, and those voices that want to tell us that things will get much worse before they get better will not overtake us.

The Bible tells us, "I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world." John 16:33.

 It also tells us that we are to whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.” Philippians 4:8.

." I wonder why Paul reminds us of these things. Again, I will share what I think.  I believe if we do not remember that God thought of what is happening now long before we did and that He has a plan through it all, we are bound to give up. Don't you dare!

As we enter this beautiful season of joy, amid everything, trust Jesus. I have decided that's what I will do. I know it won't be easy because I want things the way I want them in my humanness. Yet, that's not always possible.  In the meanwhile, I will hold onto my faith and the scripture that reminds me, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things unseen." I hope you will also.
