Self Care? Declutter!

Did you know that “decluttering” is self care?  Self care is actions we take to protect and improve our own health, well being, and happiness.  Many of us think that bubble baths, manicures, massages are acts of self care. (Although it is a form of it). It actually involves much more than that.  Self care isn’t just fun things.  It also includes doing hard things that improve your life.

Self care can include getting an annual check up, flossing your teeth, or exercising even on days you don’t feel like it....just to name a few.  And sometimes self care involves things you don’t even think of as self care at all, like decluttering!

Too much “clutter” can cause stress.  Clutter an make your “to do” list feel like it’s never ending, or that you can’t keep up.  Decluttering and simplifying are about getting rid of clutter, the excess and distractions,  so you have more time, space, energy, and freedom for what matters most in your life!

Clearing the clutter and removing the excess and the distractions from your home can have a really positive impact on your life and your well-being.Decluttering is freeing in so many ways. Letting go of the excess “stuff” that fills your home can feel like a weight is lifted from your life.Sometimes we don’t even realize how heavy and burdened our stuff makes us feel until we start letting it go! And once you start letting go, it can feel like such a big relief as you feel lighter and happier and begin experiencing the benefits of less.

Clearing the clutter means less of your mental capacity is taken up managing the “stuff” you own. When your brain isn’t constantly being distracted by all of the “stuff” and clutter surrounding you, you have more ability to focus and concentrate.

There are a lot of things we don’t have control over in our lives.  But there are things that we do have control over!  Do the BEST you can in the areas of your life you control over!  Be disciplined!  This is KEY in having a successful life and future!
