Setback? Come Back!

The truth is, we all experienced some setbacks in 2019.  The setbacks  may have been small, or life altering.  But we all experienced them in some shape, form, or fashion.  Setbacks can knock the breath out of us and leave us feeling weak and defeated.  When this happens it leaves us with 2 options: give up and throw in the towel or lift your head up and overcome. Figuring out how to overcome will prove to the “naysayers” and to you that you are able to fulfill the destiny that you were put here on earth to accomplish. Here are a few ways to set yourself up for a comeback in the midst of trials and tribulations:

1.  Grow through what you go through. Struggle is inevitable. It’s important to realize that it’s not about what you are going through but how you are growing through it. The outcome is not about what happens to you, it’s how you react to it. Life is 10 percent what happens to you and 90 percent how you react to it. Ask yourself if you are learning from your setbacks and becoming a better person because of it.

2.  If at first you don’t succeed dust yourself off and try again. Things will not always go your way. Letting defeat keep you from reaching your goals and moving forward with life is only doing a disservice to yourself. Find the areas that you feel need more work and take the necessary steps needed to overcome.  It’s always possible!  You get out what you put in. Give it your all every time and you will never fail.  You only fail when you don’t try!

3.  Push yourself— no one is going to do it for you. Encourage yourself, and approach every situation as if it’s sink or swim. Other people may not understand your vision and they don’t have to. Keep your ultimate goal in mind and be your own motivation. When the caterpillar thought its life was over it began to fly. You may think it’s over? No, my friend, it’s just getting started. Sometimes you experience your ultimate pitfall before you end up on top. I’ve had moments when I felt like I wanted to drop off the face of the earth. Hey, we are all human. I’m not saying that the punch in the gut feeling won’t happen but it’s important to realize it doesn’t have to end there.

The most important focus in on the “comeback”!  THE COMEBACK IS ALWAYS GREATER THAN THE SETBACK!  Turn your focus on how you are going to rebound.  Determine in your heart to rise up and overcome the setback!  Make a plan on the steps you need to take.  Be brave enough to believe there is a comeback.  Don’t stay in that “defeated” state of mind.  As mentioned, it’s not the circumstance or situation that defines you, it’s how you react to it.  You may have experienced some setbacks in 2019.  But determine in your heart that 2020 is your year for a comeback!  Pray that God will give you the strength, the trust, the belief in yourself, the guidance, and resources for your comeback!  He will do it!  It is His plan for us to lead a prosperous life in every way!  But you have to do your part so that He can do His!  Happy New Year!  Happy “Comeback” Year!
