Christmas and Hope - Hand in Hand

For me Christmas spells Hope.  Hope for healing the past, hope for today and hope for tomorrow.  Let us take time to celebrate this wonderful gift that God has given us, Jesus.   Jesus is the reason for the season…

Let us remember Jesus came to bring us life and hope.  “Jehovah hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening [of the prison] to them that are bound; to proclaim the year of Jehovah`s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah, that he may be glorified.” Isaiah 61:1-3/Luke 4:17-19 quoting Isaiah 61:1-2

In everyday life hope is abundant, if we will take the time to look at what God has provided.  Creation writes a story for all to see if we will open the eyes of our hearts.  “The heavens show forth the glory of God, and the firmament declares the work of His hands.” Psalms 19:2  Let us remember the sun comes up faithfully every morning kissing the earth with its rays.  “His mercies are new every morning, great is His faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23  The sun sets faithfully every night leaving a trail of beauty in the early evening dusk; even in the night God has provided the stars to twinkle faithfully and the moon to shine brightly reflecting the beauty of the sun in the night sky.  “He shows forth His truth in the night.” Psalms 92:2b   There is light even in the darkness.“Jesus is the Light of the world.”John 8:12a  Streams and rivers run faithfully to destinations bringing, life giving waters wherever they flow. “For the Lamb... shall lead them to the fountains of the waters of life” Revelations 7:17  Trees and plants push toward the sky in beauty for all to see and bring life giving oxygen.  “And He breathed into his face the breath of life, and man became a living soul” Genesis 2:7  These same trees and plants bring forth fruit to provide us with food for life. “Jesus is the Bread of Life.” John 6:35,51All these things are faithful, and each of them is a reflection of God’s faithfulness to us.  A reflection of the fact that He is the same yesterday, today and forever.  A reflection of the fact that He will never leave us nor forsake us.  A reflection of his great love for us.  Our Creator shouting hope to us from the beauty and faithfulness of His creations.

He gave His only begotten Son to us so that we might have hope in this life.  As you celebrate God’s wonderful gift this Christmas Season,

May you have a Blessed Christmas

And a

Blessed New Year...

Love in Christ, Michele
