P Power of Positive Faith

Do you feel it? Do you feel the change in the season? I do.

Winter is over and every year I look forward to its end.  I look forward to the change from cold, dark, wet and sometimes the ugliness of the winter, waiting expectantly to see the beauty of the earth spring to life again. It was gray and weary, ice cold at times and dreary. And all of a sudden, one morning, out of nowhere, you could hear the birds chirping.  Just stop and listen, you can probably hear them now. There is no way to listen to their sounds and not begin to smile and feel positive about life; you feel  warm inside.

Just think, just like the earth’s climate changes because it goes through different seasons, so do we as humans. I feel a change about to come; can’t you feel it?

That's how life is. We go through seasons. Only a couple of years ago, I went through a serious time of change; I call it my winter season. In January I began to experience headaches that I thought were sinus headaches. I took medicine but instead of getting better I began to get worse.  January was only the beginning because, to my surprise, it was time for a deeply dark and dreaded winter season for my life. That entire year took me to a whole new level of fear, desperation and pain that I had never experienced before.  I wasn’t unhealthy; I exercised, ate right and took real good care of myself so when this health issue came to my door, it shook my world.

What I learned during that time is that we go through seasons just like what happens in the earth’s environment. We experience some cold & ugly seasons and we experience some warm, lively and beautiful seasons. I offer this one thing: When we are in good seasons, pray and trust God and when you enter a bad one, it won’t be too hard to continue to pray and trust God. Some seasons knock us off our feet and our situations can be hard to deal with and even harder to handle. That’s why we need God. During these times, we need to learn to lean on Him.

You may be a very strong person, yet at this point in your life, you may feel that you are stuck in a season that has been harsh and cold. But look and feel the warm wind against your face; listen quietly for the chirping of the birds; look at the dusk of the morning and look far into sky and expect to see God. He has promised you that He will never leave you.  So what ever it is that you must face, whatever sickness, disease, heartache that you have to endure; I believe that it is only for a little while.

We know when we are getting close to change from winter to spring, spring to summer, summer to fall and fall to winter again. We don’t wonder if these will happen, we just wait for them to happen.  I say, let’s have that same kind of faith in our circumstances too; they will change. We have not been promised a bed of roses, but we have been given promises. One of those say that “He will not put more on us than we can handle.” Sometimes I wonder, but ultimately I have to trust Him.

If you have lived in a dark place lately, just wait, God designed seasons and yours will change…
