People workout and exercise for various reasons.  The most prevalent reason is to lose weight.  But, believe it or not, some people exercise to GAIN WEIGHT!  Yes....it seems like a wonderful problem to have!  But for those who deal with this issue, it is a struggle at times!  My client, Tara Brooks, tells her story of why she began her fitness journey.

"Have your ever had someone say to you, “You are so skinny”?  Many women would love to hear that but for someone who has always been skinny, it can make you self-conscious.  It can be just as hurtful as if someone were to tell you that you are too big.

I’ve always been active, not to lose weight but because it gave me energy and I wanted to be healthy.  I would do the workout videos, run in races, and go to the gym with a friend occasionally.  In 2013, I noticed a friend of mine had amazing definition in her arms.  Just like me, she had always heard, “You are so skinny”.  Soon after talking to her about her fitness routine her sister invited me to go workout with her at Kellye Personal Fitness.  I was extremely nervous.  The idea of using sledge hammers, tractor tires, and lifting weights was very intimidating but I felt this would be the place to take it to the next level. During that first workout, I was already hooked.

Three years later, I am still working out hard and it was the best decision I have made with my health and fitness....not only for myself but for family as well. My husband comes with me to the gym and our kids see how important it is to us to be healthy and active.

Since working out with Kellye, I have gained the strength and definition that I have always wanted. I feel confident to try new things and push myself to reach new goals. Also, I have gained some amazing friends. We encourage one another, pray for one another, and just have fun working out together. Not many people know this but I struggle with anxiety. My time at the gym takes my anxiety away. It clears my mind, improves my mood, and just gives me emotional comfort.

God has opened many doors for me in my life and leading me to Kellye Personal Fitness has been life changing in so many ways. Kellye is not only my trainer but a great friend. She is always there to encourage me, push me to go heavier, and always telling me those infamous words, 'You got it!' "
